American Bantam Car Company In World War Two / WWII
If you click on the Bantam trailer data plate icon at the top right corner, you can go to a chart that tracks the features of many T3-Cs. After looking at the drawbars which have a SLANTED gusset in them rather than the WWII-style 'VEE' gusset which was used up past #10,000, I checked your data plate up close and I think I see a '2' in front of. It all began when I resurrected John Hubbard's database from the yahoo groups: Bantam Trailer nearly 10+ years ago. Unfortunately, Yahoo no longer supports the content but the email still forwards (in an email from Louie Larson wrote to me March 2008) 'If you looked at the Bantam TC-3 site (Yahoo Groups) you saw my serial # chart.
- FOCUS ON TRAILERS -
The Bantam in Detail.
Having looked around the Web for years now, I could never find any good close up pics of the Bantam Trailer, although there are a few good sites that deal with Trailers, I thought these may come in handy for someone who was looking for the 'details' rather than the 'overall general appearance' .. Naturally I have to thank Alasdair Brass in New Zealand for the use of his Trailer for the pics, these were taken when I spent time with Al in 2001, one or two were subsequently taken after I got home, that's when you discover the new digital camera isn't as good as the manufacturers advertise them to be.
BE AWARE THESE PICS ARE NECESSARILY LARGE, CLICK ON THE THUMBNAIL TO OPEN
The trailer shown is a 1943 Bantam T3, Serial Number 36501, and Dated November, 15th, 1943 (15-11.43)
It's fitted in some of the shots with a travel bracket for towing so that traffic indicators and brake lights can be used for safety, the Travel Bracket can be quickly removed for displays, requiring no additional holes to be drilled in the rear cross member of the frame.
A drawing of this Travel Bracket will shortly be available off the JeepDraw site.
You're welcome to download the pics for your own use, but not for other web page reproductions.
I've included a few links on the Links Page having Trailer information, if there are any others, please let me know and I'll add them, in the meantime… enjoy!

The above photos are the general views, Al's canvas cover is from Beechwood Canvas, the only thing I dislike about the cover is the ropes.
The lower photos are the up close detail shots, notice the nuts.
